PHYSICAL APPEARENCE:one good paragraph
CLOTHING STYLE:more so than anything, Caitlin is all about being comfortable. Whether it's in her own skin, or in her clothes, comfort is a big deal. But not only are her clothes comfy, but they're trendy. Her usual outfit consists of skinny jeans, a v-neck, a vest, sneakers, and a tredny necklace or two.
LIKES: music, writing, fashion, being outside, experimenting, sunlight, flowers, swings, chinese food, fruit juice, playing the piano, and children's boardgames.

GOALS: to get out of her "funk", and to keep from becoming a party kid.
FEARS: painful death, and being forgotten.
HABITS: when she walks through a door, she hits the doorframe twice, and she sings obnoxiously in the shower.
OVERALL PERSONALITY:Shy
One part of her that most people see, is the quiet and shy side. She's a terrible conversationalist when meeting new people; talking very quietly, and usually laughs out of being so nervous. Most people, by the way she acts when she meets them, think that she doesn't want to talk to them, even. She's very short with her answers, and likes to be as quiet as she can, and talk as little as possible. She likes listening to the other person talk, rather than having to scramble her brain for answers to pass her own lips. The only true way of telling that Caitlin does actually want to talk to somebody she doesn't really know, and get to know them, is the fact that she smiles and nods a lot - in an attempt to keep the conversation going.
Happy
Caitlin is almost always happy. She's usually seen with a smile on her face, and not a lot of things can get her down. Some people are overly sensitive when they're happy, and things like stubbing their toe can get them angry. Caitlin though, it takes quite a lot to get her truthfully sad or mad. She's usually bubbly and laughing, rather than wasting her days being sad over the small things.
Caring
Caitlin's got a big heart. She cares almost too much about those people she's close with, and will do anything for them. Her heart is always open and vulnerable to most everybody, which means any male could come along and bulldoze it over, leaving her in pieces. She knows that being like this is just asking to get heartbroken over and over again, but she never wants to miss out on anything or anyone. She wants to experience as much as she can in her short life, and pain and heartbreak won't be things that will get in her way.
Friendly
Her friendly side is constantly present, whether other people can spot it or not. She smiles and laughs at other peoples' jokes, even if she thinks they're lame or stupid. She'll sit and listen to somebody tell a story, even if she finds that person incredibly dull. It's just how big her heart is, she can't find it in herself to blow somebody off. Sure, she'll avoid them and will try her hardest to not get stuck in a situation where she'd have to talk to the people she doesn't like. But if she does get stuck in such a situation, she'll force herself to endure it.
When people earn the title of a 'friend' for Caitlin, they're basically in for life. Sometimes it can take quite a while for a person to get there, and other times it can happen easily. But still, whenever she makes friends, she's in it for the long haul. She'll do a lot for those people, and will murder anybody who crosses her friends. Whether the term 'murder' means physically, emotionally or socially, it doesn't matter. Caitlin will make at least one of those three happen. She's a hardcore friend, right to the end, if you will.
Romantic
This girl, like almost any other girl out there, is a definite hopeless romantic. She loves doing those sweet, little things; like walking on the beach, hand-in-hand with a guy. Or getting flowers for absolutely no reason at all. She's not spoiled, and doesn't expect gifts constantly, or to be taken out to the fanciest, most expensive places. All she really wants, is for a guy to want to be with her. She wants a guy who'll throw rocks at her window in the dead of night, and request a rendesvous in the moonlight. Just little, inexpensive things like that.
Angry
caitlin can hold a grudge for ages. If somebody hurts her, there's no way that they'll be able to come crawling back and get accepted into her life again. If somebody breaks her heart, she'll never take them back. If a friend backstabs her, she'll never go back to being their friend. Dishonesty, and everything along those lines, are things she hates more than a lot of things on this earth. So if somebody hurts her, they're basically dead to her. And that's that.
She won't get very violent, though. She won't pick fights with people she hates, and will try her best to avoid things like that. She likes to keep to her friends and her own life, and not bother with the negative things. Even if she's a hardcore enemy with somebody, she still won't fight with them, even if they call her on.

HISTORY:Big, thick snowflakes were falling, covering the streets, buildings, and houses with a light dusting of snow. It was quiet winter night, only four days after everybody rung in the New Year. Everything was dead still, and it was rather late at night. Around 11:30pm, to be more particular. However, at the Ransom household, it was less than quiet. Annette Ransom's water had just broke, and it was time to go to the hospital. The man who was just about to become a new father, Richard Ransom, was running around collecting things they might need. Eventually, when the suitcases were in the trunk, Annette was in the backseat, and Richard was in the driver's seat; they pulled off and made for the hospital.
The baby had been taking it's sweet time in arriving - that is, until they reached the hospital. Once Annette got situated comfortably in the labour room, the contractions slowly but steadily became closer and closer, as the baby got less and less patient. Only six hours after leaving their house, Annette was rushed to the delivery room. The whole birthing process took only took three quarters of an hour; including the baby getting weighed, measured, and cleaned off, and the new parents getting acquainted with their first daughter. The new baby girl was as healthy as possible; having come out screaming, her set of lungs not giving out on her until she was wrapped up and in her mother's arms. The child was eventually named Caitlin Marie, and was seen as a blessing in her parents eyes. Seems perfect, doesn't it?
Now, Caitlin was born into a rather rich family. They were nowhere near a shortage of the stuff; living in a big house and owning everything they need and want. And, with Richard never being satisfied with his riches and always aiming for more, it was basically undeniable that they would never run into financial problems. Since they had more money than they knew what to do with, Caitlin pretty much had everything within reach as she grew up. Toys, games, and eventually, instruments. As Caitlin moved through her baby stages, her parents noticed a spark within her. Everytime she heard music, she would light up and immediately search for where it was coming from. If she found it, she would stay near it until the music stopped.
Annette and Richard both noticed Caitlin's early interest in music, and got her started on lessons at a very early age. Caitlin was three when she was put into her very first voice lessons - and she loved them. Of course, it was nothing too strenueous or hard for a three-year-old. But she still loved every moment of every lesson she had. Eventually her voice lessons went from weekly to daily, because she enjoyed them so much. She would even run around the house, singing different nursery rhymes and other things she was learning at her lessons.
When she was four, Annette caught Caitlin doing something rather strange, but happy all the same. She had found one of her very old toys from when she was a baby. It was one of those piano-type things, with only six keys but a child could still play the keys on them. Julienne had found it and started playing with it, incredibly enthused with how she could press a button and a note would come out. It was that situation that got her into even more music lessons; this time, piano. Richard bought her a grand piano and a keyboard to play on, after the success of the piano lessons showed through.
Caitlin's music and piano lessons continued, the girl learning a lot everytime. She had one lesson a day, voice and piano alternating. But the alternation didn't affect her talent in any way. She always showed up prepared, and ready to work hard - especially as she got older and began to understand things like notes, keys, and songs. It was when Caitlin was six, that she began exploring another level of music. She had gone to visit her cousin Mark, of whom she saw as more of a brother, and saw him strumming on a guitar. She was immediately interested in how he plucked the strings, and moved his fingers to differ in notes. Caitlin had demanded that he let her play, and eventually she talked him into it. She started off slowly, but eventually the guitar made it into her heart, right up there with singing and playing the piano.
This went on for a few years afterwards. Caitlin would go to school everyday, and then a music lesson. Her schedule altered slightly, when she first played the guitar. Now she had three different lessons to go to, that alternated every three days. She was rather smart with her schoolwork though, and was absolutely in love with her music. So she was able to move through the schedule with ease, and not very many slip-ups or days missed. Of course, she did get sick and things did come up every now and again; but she hardly ever fell behind with her schedule. When she was seven, a new band came onto the scene - one called Ocean is Theory. Her brotherly cousin was a part of the band, which immediately made Ocean is Theory one of her favorites. It also brought Mark and Caitlin closer emotionally, since they both had that same dream of music, and Mark was achieving it.
Disaster struck, though, when Caitlin was ten. She had still been going through her schedule, meeting friends, and hanging out with them. Just being a normal ten-year-old, despite she had a hardcore music schedule. She had been the one to answer the phone call, and immediately got that feeling that something was wrong. It had been her aunt, Mark's mother, that called; but she wouldn't tell her niece what was happening. Caitlin could tell her aunt was crying, but she just kept asking to speak to her mother. Eventually though, the ten-year-old found out what was going on. Her two cousins had gotten into a car accident, and Mark was dead. Gone. Never to be seen or heard again.
After that, Caitlin was lost and confused. She had seen Mark go after his dream of music, and ended up dying. His dreams were taken from him, only two years after going after it. She never wanted her dreams to be taken from her, like that. She spent weeks holed up in her room, not going to school or her music lessons; just thinking about her cousin and the fact that Ocean is Theory was no more because of a drunk driver. Throughout the duration of these weeks holed up in her room, undisturbed by her parents, she had; one, threw her guitar against the wall, breaking it literally in half. And two, kicked her keyboard over, and repeatedly jumped on and kicked it, until it didn't even turn on anymore. When she unearthed from said dark place, she wanted nothing to do with music. She quit all of her lessons, and refused to even think about reconsidering her decision. Even after she went back to school, she didn't do much else. She went to school, and otherwise stayed in her room.
After a year passed, her parents got fed up with her behaviour. Just after her eleventh birthday, she was sent off to a 'retreat' center. It was kind of like rehab, except for the emotionally challenged, if you will. A place where people go to deal with huge emotional blows, and have counsellors and shrinks there, available 24-hours a day. In a way, it was like a vacation spot; except, with people breathing down your neck constantly. The place was made for people who were more ready to kill themselves, because of an emotional blow; but Caitlin's parents were rich. They offered a hefty payment, hence, Caitlin was accepted into the place. This retreat center was in Texas; a rather large distance away from where she was born, in New York City.
The counsellors in the center did not see anything wrong with her from the very start. She would smile and laugh, she was able to have fun, etc. The only time that she really got seriously upset, was when somebody mentioned music, and how she should get back into it. Her parents were bent and determined to 'fix' her, so that she would throw herself back into music and play again. Except, the counsellors had trouble with trying to get through to her, and why she wouldn't want to play again. After all, she was downright in love with it before Mark's death. Everytime the counsellors claimed that Caitlin was fine, and could be released; her parents always immediately went to her, and asked if she was ready to play music again. Everytime, she would answer 'no', which earned her another stint in the center, despite what the counsellors said. After five years of living in the center, meeting some interesting people, and refusing to play music; Caitlin's parents finally decided to change their tactics. They had heard about Music Rehab. It was a camp that was based around music, and gave the students lessons for it. It had gotten great feedback, and they had decided to send Caitlin there - even if it was against her will. Along with that decision, they also decided to go ahead and move away from New York. They moved to the closest place to Music Rehab, which was Texas; before getting Caitlin and bringing her to her new home.
